This week I’ve been back to the drawing board with a little project I’m working on to support the Yadumu project my brother started. Ill be happy to announce soon with more detail.

The project obviously has me reflecting on this adventure that easily made it in my top three life experiences. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

Along with the incredible memories came the day my camera card corrupted just a few short hours into the trip. I was devastated to say the least upon discovering I’d lost a ton of incredible shots, a close up lion pride as well as video and other great memories. The tragedy forced me to sit back and enjoy it the best I could knowing I couldn’t capture it the way I wanted to share.

That I did.

  1. Sorry that you lost so many wonderful photos, although the ones you have are still gorgeous and I’m sure the memory you have of it is even better 🙂 You are such an inspiration.

  2. gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! I’m dying to experience this, it looks like you had an amazing time!
(I also love the ring and the boots – ll bean? I wish they were available here, I’m always so hesitant to order online :S)

      1. eeek! Thanks for the info 🙂 I’m confused about the different types – there’s this gore tex thing which says it’s water resistant but I find it hard to believe that the regular boots aren’t water resistant too. It’s the lack of info that makes me hesitant :S

I also get way too excited to post comments and I always forget half of what I meant to say: I’m sorry you lost your pictures. I’m always terrified of them getting stolen etc. I store the memory cards in various locations and then I’m terrified of losing them because I forgot where I put them…

  3. Incredible pictures– but I know the devastation that comes with lost photos. The one of you smiling in front of those crocodiles! You are a much braver woman than I!

  4. hi! love your blog! quick question— where can i get your socks? i’ve been looking for some good boot socks! also, are your boots the Women’s Maine Hunting Shoe, 10″ from llbean?

    thanks!! xx
