Letters to my boys (via Tumblr)

I hope one or both of you let me teach you how to sew… maybe become a tailor or design and make that line of clothes I always dreamed of doing myself. I hope one of you becomes a woodworker and that you both learn to love hard work with your hands. I also expect you to both have full sleeve tattoos, ride motorcycles and be adrenaline junkies. Love each other, life, your mamma and Jesus like it’s your last chance.

All my love

p.s. when I’m old don’t forget about me when you take those weekend fishing trips… I’ll still want to come.

*found this via my Tumblr from a year ago. still relevant.

  1. Excuse me ma’am for the intrusion. I wanted to tell you that this post touched my occasional insensitive heart. Your hopes for your boys are indeed worthy aspirations. Tis an awesome responsibility to raise children in the nurture and admonition of our Lord. It’s a task that manages to keep us parents quite humble and dependent on God if we expect success. I recognize that those who comment here are predominantly women, but I hope you won’t mind a man commenting this once. Have a blessed week.

  2. You’re blog is truly so inspiring. I’m so glad i’ve come across it (less than a month ago) and that now it is a regular destination. I’m a fan. It nice to ‘travel’ with your thoughts, your visual inspiration and snippets of your life.

    Blog-loving.

  3. I just found your blog and am overly obsessed. You live such an inspiring life, and portray it beautifully through your pictures and words. God bless you.

  4. This warmed my inner mama’s heart. Though not yet one, I long for things like this too. Thank you for your words and your beautiful heart.
